The rules governing your use of Azul Tiles.

These Terms of Service govern your use of Azul Tiles, operated by Fantasma Dev LLC (502 W 7th St, Ste 100, Erie, PA 16502, United States), accessible at www.azultiles.com.

By accessing or using Azul Tiles, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Your use of Azul Tiles constitutes your agreement to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Azul Tiles is a free-to-play online browser game inspired by the Azul tile-placement board game. It offers:

  • Real-time multiplayer matches against other players
  • Single-player matches against AI bots at multiple difficulty levels
  • An ELO-based rating system and global leaderboard
  • Player profiles with game statistics
  • An optional ad-free experience available for purchase

The service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising. We do not guarantee the service will be available at all times or without interruption.

3. Intellectual Property

The physical board game Azul is designed by Michael Riesling and published by Plan B Games. Azul Tiles is an unofficial, fan-made digital implementation and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by Plan B Games or Michael Riesling.

The Azul Tiles website design, code, graphics, and software are the intellectual property of Fantasma Dev LLC. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our code or design without prior written permission.

4. User Accounts

You may use Azul Tiles as an anonymous guest or create a registered account. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information (a valid email address if registering)
  • Choose a username that is not offensive, impersonating, or misleading
  • Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

By using Azul Tiles, you agree not to:

  • Cheat, exploit game bugs, or use automated scripts to gain an unfair advantage
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other players in the in-game chat
  • Post spam, advertising, or links to malicious content in the chat
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the game servers
  • Create multiple accounts to manipulate the leaderboard or ELO system
  • Impersonate other players, developers, or any real person

6. Purchases and Ad-Free Subscription

Azul Tiles offers an optional ad-free subscription for a one-time payment of $5 (USD), providing one year of ad-free gameplay.

  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Azul Tiles does not store your payment details.
  • The ad-free period begins immediately upon successful payment and expires 365 days after purchase.
  • All purchases are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. If you have a billing issue, contact us at hello@azultiles.com.
  • Ad-free status is tied to your user account and cannot be transferred.

7. Advertising

The free version of Azul Tiles displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. By using the free version, you consent to the display of these advertisements. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Azul Tiles is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Your use of the service is at your sole risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fantasma Dev LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Azul Tiles. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $5 if you have made no purchases.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Erie County, Pennsylvania.
