How we collect, use, and protect your information on Azul Tiles.

Welcome to Azul Tiles, operated by Fantasma Dev LLC (502 W 7th St, Ste 100, Erie, PA 16502, United States). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.azultiles.com and how we use it.

By using Azul Tiles, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account identifiers: Firebase Authentication assigns you an anonymous unique identifier (UID) when you play. If you create a registered account, we also collect your email address and password (stored securely by Firebase, never in plain text).
  • Username and profile: The username you choose, an optional bio, and an optional Discord handle entered on your profile page.
  • Game statistics: Wins, losses, ELO rating, best score, total games played, average points per game, and win rate, all associated with your UID.
  • Cookies and local storage: We store a userId and username cookie to keep you logged in between sessions. Sound and display preferences are saved in localStorage.
  • Usage data: Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics collect standard usage data including pages visited, events triggered (e.g. game started, quick-play joined), device type, browser, and approximate geographic location (country or city level). This data is anonymized and aggregated.
  • Payment information: If you purchase an ad-free subscription, payment is processed entirely by Stripe. Azul Tiles never sees or stores your credit card number. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded, along with your UID to activate ad-free access.
  • Email address (newsletter): If you subscribe to our email list, your address is stored with Brevo (formerly Sendinblue).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Azul Tiles game experience, including matchmaking, real-time multiplayer, and leaderboard rankings.
  • To display your profile statistics and maintain your ELO rating.
  • To activate ad-free access after a successful purchase.
  • To send occasional email updates if you subscribed to our newsletter (you may unsubscribe at any time).
  • To analyze how players use the site so we can improve features and fix bugs.
  • To serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense (described below).

3. Google AdSense and Advertising

Azul Tiles is free to play and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense (publisher ID: ca-pub-1475221072762577) to display ads on the site.

Google uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings or aboutads.info.

Players who purchase an ad-free subscription will not see AdSense ads while their subscription is active.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

5. Data Retention

Anonymous session data is retained until you clear your browser cookies or your session expires. Registered account data (username, stats, bio) is retained for as long as your account exists. Ad-free subscription status is stored for 12 months from the purchase date. Email newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@azultiles.com.

  • European Economic Area residents have rights under the GDPR.
  • California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA.

7. Children's Privacy

Azul Tiles is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@azultiles.com and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

Authentication is handled by Firebase, which provides industry-standard security. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects any changes. Continued use of Azul Tiles after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
